Digital DSLR slit lamp
BL-99D
Five-step Galilean optics paired with DSLR photography, 1080p video, and software-assisted clinical documentation.

Digital DSLR configuration
Designed to examine and document.
The BL-99D combines the familiar control of a five-step clinical slit lamp with a flexible DSLR imaging platform. It gives eye care teams a clear optical view at the instrument while supporting still photography, 1080p video, image processing, and organized patient-record workflows.

Five-step clinical optics
The Galilean stereoscopic microscope moves through 6×, 10×, 16×, 25×, and 40× magnification by drum rotation. A 12.5× eyepiece and wide interpupillary adjustment support a comfortable binocular view across routine examinations and closer inspection of fine ocular detail.
Cool, consistent LED illumination
The LED light source produces a bright, sharply defined slit beam while limiting heat at the examination area. Slit width adjusts continuously from 0 to 14 mm, slit height from 1 to 14 mm, and the illumination angle rotates through 180 degrees for flexible observation.
Five inclination settings—0°, 5°, 10°, 15°, and 20°—extend the available illumination geometry without adding complexity to the examination flow.

Filters for focused observation
The BL-99D includes heat-absorption, neutral-density, red-free, cobalt-blue, and built-in yellow filters.
- Yellow barrier
- Used with cobalt-blue illumination, the yellow barrier filter increases the contrast of fluorescein staining for a clearer surface view.
- Cobalt blue
- Cobalt-blue illumination supports fluorescein-based examination of the corneal surface and contact lens fit.
- Neutral density
- The neutral-density filter reduces illumination intensity while preserving the color balance of the observed field.
- Red-free
- Red-free viewing increases contrast between vascular structures and surrounding tissue to make fine detail easier to assess.
The filter set is built into the illumination system for quick selection during the examination.
Controlled movement across the examination field
The instrument base provides 110 mm of left-to-right travel, 90 mm of forward-to-back travel, and 30 mm of vertical movement. The chin rest adds 80 mm of height adjustment, helping the clinician align the optical system and patient efficiently.
A joystick, metal adjustment controls, and an integrated base keep positioning direct and stable as the examination moves between broad observation and higher magnification.

A flexible DSLR imaging workflow
The BL-99D uses a DSLR camera configuration for high-resolution still photography and supports 1080p dynamic video. Companion software supports image processing and patient-record workflows, while automatic exposure, image optimization, and eye-position recognition help streamline capture. Camera and software packages may vary by configuration.
